The topic statement will be a three to four-page (the body of the paper should be three to four pages) paper that discusses: (1) what the topic of the research project will be, why this was chosen, and the learning goals of the researcher, (2) background literature (at least five relevant scholarly sources*) that will inform the project, (3) methodologies found, and (4) results found. *Scholarly sources means peer-reviewed journal articles, not websites.
